All 5th grade students were given an extra credit project form on Friday, Nov. 7. Projects will be graded as a test grade. Projects are due Friday, November 22, 2019. No LATE Projects will be accepted. We are reaching back to a 4th grade standard because these current 5th graders only received a very brief summary of causes and events of the Civil War and working from our old textbooks. Tuesday--Standard 5.40--Identify the impact of important Tennesseans prior tothe Civil War, including: David Crockett, Sam Houston, President James K. Polk, Sequoyah Unit 2-Chapter 9 Wednesday--Standard 5.41-Examine the issue of slavery in the three grand divisions and the impact their differences had on Tennessee's secession from the Union. Chapter 10 Thursday: Students will complete a study guide for Unit 2 test. Friday--Unit 2 test covering standards: 5.35-5.41 MONDAY-- Standard 5.37-- Describe Tennessee's involvement in the War of 1812 including: Andrew Jackson, the TN Volunteers, and the Battle of Horseshoe Bend.
