MONDAY-- Standard 5.37-- Describe Tennessee's involvement in the War of 1812 including: Andrew Jackson, the TN Volunteers, and the Battle of Horseshoe Bend.
Chapter 7 --Students will create a flip book in their interactive social studies spirals. Tuesday--5.38--Students will analyze the impact of Andrew Jackson's presidency on the American Indian population of Tennessee, including : the Indian Removal Act, Trail of Tears, Treaty of Echota, and John Ross. Chapter 8-- Students will create a flip book in their interactive social studies spiral and list 5 facts about each event. Wednesday--5.39 Explain how the western boundary of Tennessee was expanded with the Jackson Purchase. Create a map of Tennessee before and after the Jackson Purchase. Thursday--5.38-5.39 Students will create a trifold book about important events in the Life of Andrew Jackson and his presidency Friday--1/2 Day and school wide Spelling Bee
