Module 3 Traits and Heredity --Lesson 1 Inherited Traits
Standard 5.LS3 Objective--Students will analyze and interpret data to explain that living things are influenced by both inherited and learned traits. Students will complete a study guide Monday, Dec. 17, (CLUE students will receive a completed study guide). Our Module test will be Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018. Vocabulary for the week-- inherit, dominate, recessive, trait, variation Monday--How are living things like parents Tuesday-Heredity and Gregor Mendel, the father of genetics. Wednesday--How do variations in traits arise and the circumstances under which some traits are selected. Thursday and Friday-- Dominate VS. Recessive game and art activity. Week 9 Monday- Dec. 17 Module Study Guide Tuesday--Dec. 18 Complete Module test and Finger Print Activity Wednesday--Shortened Class Period-- Present results of Finger Print Activity.

This week we will look closer into how animal and human eyes work.
Monday- Look at several types of animal eyes and ask/answer questions about them. In the Blink of an Eye- activity. Discuss vocabulary words for the week (image, concave lens, translucent, reflection, convex lens, opaque, refraction and transparent) Tuesday- Science MAPs Test Wednesday- Bouncing and Bending of Light WB p. 26-27 Thursday- LAB- Mystery Science Project- How the Eye Works Friday- Vocab Quiz on our 8 words (listed on )Monday Activity with transparent, translucent and opaque |
