Vocabulary Test this Friday Imperialism, Rough Riders, USS Maine, and Yellow Journalism, 18th Amendment, 19th Amendment, Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, prohibition , Gilded Age, Buffalo Soldiers, Settlers, Andrew Carnegie, John D. Rockefeller, Monday- complete-Lollipop Lab Standard 5.05 Examine the contributions, and impact of inventors on American society, including Alexander Bell, George W. Carver and Thomas Edison.
Tuesday Standard 5.07 Analyze the causes , course, and consequences of the Spanish-American War, including Imperialism, Rough Riders, USS Maine, and Yellow Journalism.
Wednesday-- Standard 5.09 Analyze the major goals, struggles, and achievements of the Progressive Era, including Prohibition (18 Amendment) women’s suffrage (19 Amendment and the lack of child labor laws. )
Thursday-- Standard 5.08 Describe the challenges of the journey and process of successful entry into the U.S. through Ellis Island and Angel Island, and examine the roles of immigrants in the development of the U.S.
Students will be tested on unit vocabulary. Students will review for TCAP by completing practice test questions

Hello, I'm Katherine Reed. This is my 31st year of teaching and my 25th year at Richland. I am a graduate of the University of Mississippi where I received my undergraduate degree and masters degree in Elementary Education.
