Hello All
We are in the final stretch of school!! Please remember, if your child has not completed his or her Science Grade Improvement Assignment, it is due by May 11, 2020. Remember you can write out your answers to the science challenge or answer questions in a game of Kahoot!! As of today, I've had 13 students participate in the Kahoot game quiz to earn their bonus points!! We will be finishing the year with a social studies review. This week our focus will be Map Skills and using Latitude and Longitude. Assignment 1. Watch the Map Skills video (15 minutes) located in my Clever account. Same location as last week's Magnet video. 2. Complete IXL Lessons F.Maps These are found in the 4th grade skills section
Hello Awesome 5th Graders

Magnetism is our main focus this week. 1. Watch the "Magnet Video" that I have linked to my Clever Page. 2. Complete the following IXL lessons on Magnetism H.Magnets H 1--Identify magnets that attract or repel H 2--Label magnets that attract or repel H 3--Compare magnitudes of magnetic forces Have a great week! I'll see you all Wednesday on our TEAMS meeting! Hello All, Earth Day is this coming Wednesday, April 22. Earth Day is our annual reminder to slow down and appreciate the bounty of the earth. I am attaching an Earth Day Scavenger Hunt!!! Complete the hunt, take a photo of all of your found items and email me your photo!!! Have Fun!!! Photos due by Friday April, 24!! Science Assignment 1. Watch "Collision" Energy Transfer, Generation Genius Video www.generationgenius.com/?share=40738 2. Complete IXL Lessons on Force and Motion G-1 Identify directions of forces G-2 How do balanced and unbalanced forces affect motion? G-3 How does mass affect force and acceleration? Please be sure to join our weekly Google Teams meeting this Wednesday and invite your family also!!!! Something exciting is happening!! You should have the link in your email. 5-04 8:00 AM 5-02 8:45 AM 5-05 9:30 AM Hello All,
We are continuing our Thermal Energy assignment with the following IXL Science Lessons. I am trying a new Discovery Education Lesson format. I have created Discovery Education reading/video assignment: How Is a Chemical Change Different from a Physical Change? I sent my class, 505 the link through our new Google TEAMS platform to test if the link works. ( I am learning so much everyday about the new distant learning products we are asked to use, please be patient as I work out the kinks) Once we've mastered the products, I'll send the information to Mrs. Taylor's and Mrs. Aristorenas' students. Continue on your IXL Thermal Energy assignments below. C4--Predict heat flow C5--Predict temperature changes C6--How are temperature and mass related to thermal energy? D1--Compare physical and chemical changes I will see everyone at our Wednesday 4-15-20 Online Meeting 5-05-- 9-9:30 5-02--9:45-10:15 5-04--10:30-11:00

I also realized that half of my students have not had a chance to log on yet. Again, if you have forgotten your IXL username and password, PLEASE email me or contact me through ClassTag and I will be happy to give your your information. This week we are continuing our science lesson on Energy Transfer. Watch the Generation Genius video, Energy Transfer. If you have the materials to make the DIY Activity, " Smores Maker", please send me pictures!!!! www.generationgenius.com/?share=E4119 This Week's IXL Lessons B-3 Sort Solids, Liquids, and Gases C-1 Thermal Energy C-2 Thermal Energy C-3 Thermal Energy Extra Fun STEM Activities Anytime can be the right time to explore STEM (science, technology, engineering and math). Explore these exciting experiments, engineering challenges and demonstrations with these fun hands-on STEM activities! Materials are easy to find, most activities take an hour or less, and the STEM learning is limitless. www.sciencebuddies.org/stem-activities?p=1 See below some SEL activities from the counselors, the SCS spirit week activities, and fun Time Capsule Activities. Hello Everyone I hope you are are doing well. I miss each and every one of you. I hope you are enjoying your time with your family and are finding fun activities at home to do. I will be posting activities weekly for the students to work on if they find the time. If you don't remember your IXL username or password, please email me or Mrs. Taylor.
