Our field trip is this Friday! Please be on the look out for a note in the Wednesday Folders that will explain the expectations for this trip. Students will not be allowed to have any electronics, including phones. All parents/guardians have access to ClassTag if you need to reach the teacher or your student. I will be sending updates and pictures through ClassTag throughout the day. We understand that it is hard for our students to "unplug" and we appreciate your help in supporting us on this matter. Students can bring a small string bag with cards, paper and pencils, crossword puzzles, a book to read, a personal pillow or car games. We will also be able to show a movie on the bus. Students will need to bring a lunch for the trip. Dinner will be at Old Country Store in Jackson, TN.
Monday- Lesson 21 Divide two- and three-digit dividends by two-digit divisors with single-digit quotients and make connections to a written method. Tuesday- Lesson 22 Divide three- and four-digit dividends by two-digit divisors resulting in two- and three-digit quotients, reasoning about the decomposition of successive remainders in each place value. Wednesday-Lesson 23 Divide three- and four-digit dividends by two-digit divisors resulting in two- and three-digit quotients, reasoning about the decomposition of successive remainders in each place value. Thursday-Lesson 24 Divide decimal dividends by multiples of 10, reasoning about the placement of the decimal point and making connections to a written method. Friday- Field Trip to Nashville: Arrive at school at 6:00 am. Return to school at 8:30. Students will need to bring a sack lunch for lunch. Dinner will be at Old Country Store Buffett.

We are starting the second quarter! Over the next few weeks, we will be finishing Module 2 with division and beginning Module 3 on fractions.

Monday- Mid-Module 2 Study Guide is due. We will go over the study guide and review for the test on Wednesday. Tuesday- Lesson 15-Solve two-step word problems involving measurement and multi-digit multiplication. Wednesday- Mid-Module 2 Test; Fall Coordinate Planes Thursday- Multiplication with Decimals Escape Room Friday- Half Day dismissal at 12:15- Math Mystery I will be offering extra credit over fall break. Students will have a choice between iReady or IXL. Students can complete 1.5 hours on either iReady or IXL (5th grade skills) between Oct. 12-20 for 25 extra points on classwork during the SECOND Quarter. This is an all or nothing extra credit. There will be no partial credit. The entire 1.5 hours must be completed to earn the extra credit. |

I received my bachelor's degree from Harding University. This is my 5th year at Richland. I taught 7 years at Harding Academy, before staying home with my children.
